Simon James is a twelve year old boy who lives in Shellbrook, the village that the Hunter family moves to. He appears in the "The Demon Headmaster Strikes Again" book as well as the second series of the Television series and is portrayed by actor James Richard .

When the Hunter's move to Shellbrook the children ,Dinah, Lloyd and Harvey Hunter, meet Simon and soon become friends and when things start kicking off he helps SPLAT fight the Headmaster.

He has a passion for learning about nature and animals and starts becoming confused when he starts seeing creeper growing quickly towards red light. He becomes friends with Dinah who shares his love for science and starts investigating the creep at night with her.
