Ingrid is one of the main character of both in Demon Headmaster Book series and 1990's television adaption and together with the rest of the members of SPLAT. She tries to foil the Headmaster's plans for world domination before it's to late.
Personality
Ingrid is the youngest member of SPLAT, but she's no pushover. Ingrid is generally the most childish member of SPLAT, prone to sulking when things don't go her way or the others don't listen to her. The fact that she's the youngest does mean that she is generally ignored if she makes a suggestion, although nine times out of ten she'll be right.
Though not stated, Ingrid and Harvey are shown to be the youngest members of SPLAT.
Skills
Ingrid like the other members of SPLAT aside from Dinah can not by hypnotised by the Headmaster because she, like the others, is immune to it. Being immune to hypnotism, she is banned from assembly as it is where the Headmaster hypnotises people and reads knowledge to them to learn. We see in the book that the Headmaster meets with students and hypnotises them on there first day, this didn't work for SPLAT aside from Dinah:
"Has he ever tried it with you? Gazed into your eyes and told you were tired? said Dinah "Yes, " Lloyd said slowly. "He did once. When I first came to the school. He took off his glasses and stared at me and said "Lloyd, you are felling very tied. You are very very sleepy. " "and what happened?" asked Dinah. "Nothing much. I just said, "no sir, I'm fine thank you" and he gave up
Character history
Pre-series
There's not much concrete information about what the lives of many of the series characters were like before the series. SHe lives in Conningham with her unnamed and unseen parents with no reference to living elsewhere or moving in recently, so they could have easily lived there for all of Ingrid's life.
It seems that the Ingrid and the other SPLAT members have been attending St Champions for sometime before the start of the series. In the first book, Dinah has a conversion with another pupil Lucy Green, where Lucy says she's being attending the school since she was 5 which could also be true for Ingrid. In the first book, Lloyd and Harvey recall attending a private meeting with The Headmaster when he first started the school, implying this is something all students go through, where the Headmaster attempts Hypnosis against Lloyd and finds out that he can't be Hypnotised. This leads the Headmaster segregating Ingrid and the other members of SPLAT from the other students and banning them from attending assembly.
It is stated that they formed SPLAT as a way to look after each other, since it was the five students against the Headmaster, The Prefects and the other students. SPLAT help each other out by keeping an eye out for the prefects, so they can warn each other and swap details of all the new rules the Headmaster invents so that they don't get caught out. It's also implied that Lloyd and the other try to keep as low profile as possible and just get through school.
The Demon Headmaster Book
Ingrid first appears along with the other members of SPLAT during Dinah's first day at Dinah's new school, St Champions. Whilst her age at the start of the series isn't given, Dinah and Lloyd are stated to be around Eleven years old, with Ingrid and Harvey portrayed as the same age but younger than Dinah and Lloyd.
At the start of the series, Ingrid is attending St Champions school along with Lloyd, Harvey, Mandy and Ian who are all outcasts at the school as they are immune to the Headmasters powers unlike Dinah.
