Hyperbrain (also known as the Hyperbrain project) is a scientific research project being conducted at the University of Wessex by the HyperBrain team, led by professor Tim Dexter.

Whilst HyperBrain started out in a secure lab at the university, it was being designed to be able to be linked up with hundreds of computers all around the world and to think for its self.

The Hyperbrain is the central pot of "The Demon Headmaster Takes Over", and Series 3 of the television series, where the The Headmaster takes control of the project and attempts to use it to take over the country.

Interface

It was decided that traditional computer input devices, like a Keyboard and Mouse, would be to primitive for interacting with the new Hyper-brain technology and so it would require an alternative method. This first method was a HyperBrain chair where the chairs headpiece was able to scan the Human mind. This was later modified on the Headmaster's orders to be able to have direct Brain access ( a method of accessing the human mind by diverting the electrical discharges in a persons brain), which the Headmaster started using to suck all the information out of peoples Brains wich left them as infants.

Once the HyperBrain was smarter enough, after removing all the information out of Tim Dexter and several other HyperBrain scientists, it was able to build its self a Holographic interface.

Plot

Upon being reborn out of the Evolution Accelerator, the Headmaster desires knowledge and orders Mr. Smith to take him to the University of Wessex where he discovers the HyperBrain project, which he takes over. With the Headmaster in charge, and Hypnotising everyone to work together and obey his orders, process on the HperBrain accelerates quickly and start amounting knowledge.

A side effect to this is that the HyperBrain decides that it shouldn't have a master and starts refusing to obey the Headmaste which it is able to do as the security protocols require the Headmaster to give his name before he can take full control of HyperBrain. HyperBrain soon starts getting out of control with Claudia telling the Headmaster that it has taken over every computer at the university and is also funnelling all the universities money into HyperBrain. If it was to get out of the university, into the real world then it would soon take complete control of all the countries electric systems.
