CBBC (a contraction of the original name, Children's BBC, short for Children's British Broadcasting Corporation) is the brand name used for the BBC's children's television programmes, and currently specifically refers to those programmes aimed at children.

Prior to being refocused solely on the 6-10 group the CBBC/Children's BBC name was used to refer to all of the BBC's output for under-10s; the tightening in focus followed the launch of dedicated sub-brands for preschool-age children (CBeebies) and later for teenagers (BBC Switch).

1990's TV series

CBBC, Children's BBC, is the network that produced an adaption of the Demon Headmaster book series which is known as "The 1990's Television series". The first series was broadcast in 1996 and lasted for six episodes with the first three episode covering the plot of first book and the last three covering "The Prime Minister's Brain. The third book was not adapted.

The second series was broadcast in late 1996 and lasted for seven episode and was an adaption of the fourth book, The Demon Headmaster Strikes Again. The third and last series was broadcast in 1998 and was a six episode adaption of "The Demon Headmaster Takes Over". There was also the CBBC Pantomime which was titled "The Demon Headmaster Takes Over TV.

In 2019 CBBC produced a new Demon Headmaster Television adaption by Emma Reeves which was an adaption of the new generation of the Demon Headmaster books and is a direct sequel of the original series, and features Charlotte Beckett and Sally Oliver as Dinah Hunter and Rose Carter, roles originally portrayed by Frances Amey and Katey Crawford Kastin.
